These are video interviews recorded in 2012 by a project from Montreal , Canada called Transition Bus. The interviews cover the ideas and realities of some of the ways we might build transitional economies and social structures for today and the immediate future without governments or corporations.
It shows two examples of projects in Austin, Texas. Treasure City Thrift and Ecology Action are two anarchist inspired inter-related worker cooperatives projects. Some of these ideas and histories in this interview also appear more in depth in scott crow's book ' Emergency Hearts, Molotov Dreams' (GTK Press).
Sarah Somera is part of the Treasure City Thrift Collective. scott crow is a co-founder, and former collective member ofTreasure City, and was a collective member of Ecology Action for six years.
Note: Treasure City Thrift is still a viable and growing business and project celebrating its 8th anniversary in 2015. Ecology Action folded after 15 years as a worker cooperative and 45 years as a recycling center due to multinational corporations taking over the recycling industiry in the U.S.
